Macros, Theming, GPT-5.5, Sessions, and New Agent Templates

Tembo macros

#A newly redesigned sidebar

We also redesigned the sidebar to make navigation cleaner and faster. It's easier to see where you are, jump between the important parts of Tembo, and keep your workspace feeling organized as more capabilities land.

#Full theming support across the UI

Tembo now has full theming support throughout the product, which gives the interface a more consistent feel and sets us up for custom themes next. Custom themes are coming soon.

#Introducing macros

We also introduced macros, which make it easier to compose repeatable agent behavior without rebuilding the same instructions every time. They work wherever you use Tembo, including Slack, Linear, GitHub, and more, so teams have a cleaner way to reuse common workflows and keep agent setups more consistent.

#Tasks are now called sessions

We renamed tasks to sessions across Tembo. Nothing changed about how they work, but the new name better matches the full flow: you start a session, follow progress, review the pull request, and close it out.

#Improved Linear integration

Linear is now a much more complete place to work with Tembo. You can chat back and forth with Tembo inside an issue thread, ask questions, start or stop work, and change repos mid conversation without leaving Linear.

#Automations are now called agents

We renamed automations to agents across Tembo. The product works the same way, but the new name better matches what these workflows actually do: run Tembo agents in response to triggers, schedules, and recurring engineering tasks.

#GPT-5.5 model support

GPT-5.5 is now available as a model option for Codex, OpenCode, and pi agents.

#More agent templates for recurring engineering work

We added new agent templates: Fix bugs reported in Slack, Summarize changes daily, Auto docs maintainer, and Dependency sweep agent. These give teams more useful out-of-the-box ways to automate the repetitive work that usually falls through the cracks.

#Tembo Sandboxes V2: Coming very soon

  • VM configuration up to 128gb, with larger configs available upon request.
  • Keep alive.
  • Warming.
  • Snapshots.
  • Load any custom dependencies per workspace or per repository.

Also various bug fixes and improvements as always :)
