OpenRouter BYOK, Instant PRs, and Deeper GitLab Integration
#Bring your own OpenRouter key
OpenRouter joins the list of BYOK providers, so you can connect your own OpenRouter API key and unlock its full model catalog using your own account and billing.
#Open PRs without waiting on a sandbox
Opening a pull request no longer waits for your sandbox to boot back up. Tembo now opens PRs directly from your latest saved changes, so “Open PR” feels instant even when a session's VM has gone to sleep.
#Browse multiple workspace files at once
Workspace files now open in sidebar tabs instead of a single file view, so you can keep several files open side by side while you follow along with a session.
#Deeper GitLab integration
GitLab support took several steps forward this week: workspaces can now connect a GitLab service account instead of a personal login, automations can use any GitLab trigger (not just a subset), and macro resolution and credential refresh are more reliable for repositories across nested groups.
#Codex usage at a glance
If you've connected a Codex account, Tembo now shows its usage and quota right in settings, so you can see how much access you have left without leaving the app.
#Slack, API, and everyday improvements
- Slack workspaces can opt in to “Review on Tembo”, so the completion button on PR notifications opens the review in Tembo instead of the source Git provider.
- The public API added a session stop endpoint, so teams building on top of Tembo can stop a running session programmatically.
- The session chat experience got another round of polish, with smoother scrolling and tighter activity grouping, plus a unified composer across the dashboard and sessions.
Also various bug fixes and improvements as always :)
